Tech Free Holy Week
We will have two special services this week:
Thursday, March 28th at 6 PM: Maundy Thursday Service. By separating Maundy Thursday/Black Friday this year we will focus on them differently and more specifically. Maundy Thursday will be a focus on the foot washing, communion, and prayer of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane.
Friday, March 29th at 6 PM: Black Friday Service. Black Friday is one of the most important, but also, least-popular services/experiences of the Christian calendar/story. We have a tendency, particularly in our modern western context, to ‘rush through; (or skip entirely) to the joy and power of Easter and resurrection, and, for understandable reasons. We want to honor Black Friday with this service.
Sunday, March 31st @ 6 AM: Sunrise Service
Sunday, March 31st @ 6 PM: Sunset Service
*Please note that the Holy Week services will not be live-streamed. These will be in person in the chapel.
We are intentionally moving to a less “techy” service for these in order to be fully present for these meaningful services. While technology has allowed us to connect in unprecedented ways, we believe that Holy Week is a time for deep reflection and spiritual presence. By choosing not to live stream our services, we hope to encourage our community to fully immerse themselves in the moments of worship, prayer, and contemplation without the distractions that screens can sometimes bring. We want to create a space where we can truly be present with one another and with God, allowing the Holy Spirit to move among us in a meaningful way. While we recognize the convenience and accessibility of live streaming, we believe that being fully present in the moment during Holy Week is essential for experiencing the depth and richness of this sacred time. We invite you to join us in person as we journey together through Holy Week, drawing closer to God and to one another in worship and fellowship.
