The Faith Pres Pumpkin Patch

You may have seen us announce it before, but we are so excited that after a small hiatus, the pumpkin patch is returning to Faith Pres! We’re waiting on exact timing, but the pumpkins will arrive mid-October, and we’ll have them through Halloween. We’ll be sending out a sign up sheet to help staff the patch in the coming days, but wanted to share this message from Pastor Rich:

The Faith Pumpkin Patch’s goal is to provide our community with a quality pumpkin and a meaningful experience.

Since arriving in Los Angeles in 2010, I found achieving a balance between quality, experience, and affordability hard to do: I could get an affordable gourd of low quality with zero experience, or, over-pay for experience with moderate quality, or pay a reasonable price but travel a great distance to get a high-quality gourd with a great experience. By partnering with this farm in New Mexico, we bring in high quality gourds, farmed responsibly by indigenous communities, with little to no travel for our neighbors. At the same time, we try to provide some fun experiences – come check it out!

I hope you like it, and if you have ideas about how we can strengthen any of this experience, please let us know. The funds we raise will go to physical improvements of our campus community center.
